Hoodie Tech Pack Checklist: What Your Factory Needs

A hoodie tech pack connects several interacting components: body, sleeves, hood, rib and pockets, plus the zipper on a zip-up. The brief should explain how these parts form the intended silhouette. A fabric weight and a front mockup alone leave too many decisions unresolved for a reliable sample.

A hoodie tech pack joins the components: Describe each construction part; Connect it to the size chart; Release matching artwork and finish files
Use one version across the pattern, decoration and trim instructions.

Draw the complete construction

Provide front, back and hood drawings with seam lines and component codes. Show the hood's panel arrangement, lining or second layer, neckline attachment and any drawcord opening. On a zip-up, identify the zipper, guard and the way the hood meets the front opening. Label reference images by the exact feature they explain rather than leaving a mood board to interpret.

Add pocket shape, opening and position, along with the finished cuff and hem rib dimensions. State body and rib material targets separately, including known composition, structure, weight and finish. If a detail is undecided, ask for a proposal explicitly. An omitted rib specification should not be mistaken for approval of whichever component happens to be available during sampling.

Define measurements for the intended silhouette

Specify the base size and point-of-measure methods for chest, shoulder, body length, sleeve, armhole, cuffs and hem. Add hood height and depth with a drawing that identifies the endpoints. Explain whether a cropped length includes the rib and how a drop shoulder is measured. These definitions make the chart reproducible and help distinguish a pattern issue from a measuring disagreement.

For a zip-up, state whether body measurements are taken with the zipper closed and the garment laid flat without tension. For elastic or rib openings, separate relaxed and extended measurements where required. Agree tolerances for the actual construction rather than filling every row with a copied number. Leave grading marked as proposed until the base fit and size-range review are complete.

Link decoration and finishing to the same release

Provide artwork dimensions, placement references and color direction, including whether the design crosses a pocket or zipper. State the intended wash and decoration order as a question to confirm when it is not yet established. A graphic approved on an untreated swatch may look different on a washed body or near a thick seam intersection.

Finish the pack with labels, trims, quantity breakdown and packing. Keep a change log and ask the supplier to acknowledge the version being sampled. If a comment changes the hood or body length, update dependent placement drawings as well. A single current release is easier to follow than a correct measurement chart accompanied by an obsolete mockup and a later message correction.

Quote checklist

Send these details together

  • Coded front, back and hood construction drawings
  • Body, rib and trim material specification
  • Base-size chart with hood and opening methods
  • Artwork placement and proposed finishing sequence
  • Labels, order breakdown and acknowledged revision

Use this checklist to prepare your own order brief. Materials, processes, acceptance criteria and any applicable product requirements need order-specific confirmation; this guide is not a test report or availability guarantee.
